Training for letting and managing agents
Training that reflects the work your team does every day.
Most of the claims and failed possession cases that reach Waymakers Legal began with a routine decision made in an agent's office, a notice served a few days early, a certificate that could not be produced, a written statement never issued.
Training is delivered online or in person, and is built around the topics a particular team needs rather than a fixed syllabus. Sessions are written for property managers and lettings staff, not for lawyers.
Notices and possession
What has to be right on the face of a notice, how the dates are calculated, what evidence needs to exist before service, and how service is proved afterwards. Covers both English and Welsh procedure, and where the two diverge.
Compliance and the evidence trail
Deposit protection and prescribed information, safety certificates, written statements and the documents a court will expect to see. The emphasis is on what has to be kept and where, so that it can be produced twelve months later.
Disrepair and access
Recognising a disrepair allegation early, recording inspections and repair history, and handling refused access before it becomes a defence to a possession claim.
Working across England and Wales
For agents managing stock on both sides of the border: what differs, which office habits travel and which do not, and where using an English form on a Welsh property costs six months.
Format
Sessions run online or at your offices, as a short briefing or a half day, for a single team or a whole branch network. Content is agreed in advance and can be built around live files or recent problems, with names removed.
Discuss your property matter
Tell the team what has happened, what you would like to achieve and whether there is an approaching deadline.
